Coming Back to Haunt Trump

Apr
18

The Mueller Report came out today. Everyone's talking about it. Don't quite know why the Administration is running around claiming it's a victory (spouting words like, 'great day' and 'exonerated'). The thing contains a load of details that even taken individually would tank anyone dumb enough to remain in office and, even more pathetic, seeking reelection. This is not over; not by a long shot. @LetCorruptionSpeakForItself

Succession Ain't the Illinois Way

If you can't beat 'em, try leaving -- that's the approach of a couple GOPer dead-enders. Problem is, it didn't work in the 1860s and it most certainly won't work in the 2020s.

Tax Reform?

Oct

So sick of our local corporate media (eg. WBBM) calling the GOPer tax cut for billionaires, ‘Tax Reform’.

I Want the People!

The New York Times discusses the lack of enthusiasm among performers to appear at Trump's inauguration (link). Trump pretends not to care:

Mr. Trump has maintained that he does not want A-List celebrities at his inauguration. (“I want the PEOPLE!” he tweeted in December.)

Trump wants the "PEOPLE!"? Well, maybe he should go here...

The Fake War

Mar

"...[S]tandoff between Gov. Bruce Rauner and House Speaker Michael Madigan." [source]

"It's a Chicago tale that brings together Barack Obama, Mike Madigan and Ken Dunkin." [source]

What crap journalism. The sad thing is we're seeing this over and over in the media. They're going for the personalities over issues -- and values.

This conflict has nothing to do with Madigan. This is a conflict between a billionaire governor whose agenda is offensive to any Democrat -- any progressive -- on planet earth. And Dunkin's supporting it. Not to acknowledge this primary context is the equivalent of journalistic malpractice.

As Will Guzzardi says:

Anyone who wants this thing to end needs to realize that, irrespective of Madigan, there is *no way* that the Turnaround Agenda will pass the House. Insisting on it as a precondition of a budget deal is the same thing as saying “I do not want a budget deal.” That’s why we blame Rauner.
