So we're 'spose to trade poor people's unemployment insurance for billionaires' tax cuts and be told to come back and fight another day?

That's downright indecent -- if not completely immoral. I say, make it just about UI, period -- in a separate bill.

Larry Summers:"If they [Democrats] don't pass this bill in the next couple weeks it will materially increase the risk that the economy would stall out and we would have a double dip."

Isn't David Frum supposed to be one of the better right-wing thinkers? Then how come he's going on MarketPlace to make arguments like this:

It seems like every time there's a Democrat in the White House, the so-called Deficit Hawks come out of hibernation and suddenly start demanding we balance the budget. They did this when Clinton was in office and they're doing it again with Obama.

Came across this gem co-written in 2004 by Peter Orzag then at the Brookings Institute discussing the effects of the 2001 Bush tax cuts:
