Is nice to see all the concern about banks teetering on the edge. But despite all the theatrics recently in the House Financial Services Committee about corporate jets and girl scout cookies, where are the proposals for legislation to help prevent this from occurring again?

Probably not the best time to bring this up but with CitiBank and Chase Manhattan swallowing up failed banks left and right, do we really want our banking system being dominated by only one or two major players?

Bring back the McFadden Act and Douglas Amendment, I say.

The good people over at Wal-Mart Watch had an "unofficial" contest to redesign the Wal-Mart Logo.

The FISA legislation containing a provision which grants immunity to the Telco's is up before the Senate. It's important that Sen. Obama does everything he can to get this provision out of the bill including helping in the efforts of Senators Feingold and Dodd.
