No Serious Crisis Left to Waste

Steve Benen quotes this summary of Rep. Ryan's appearance on Fox News Sunday:

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) defended proposed Republican budget cuts to popular domestic programs Sunday as necessary to maintaining fiscal health.

HuffPost also reports on the appearance:

Ryan said the proposed cuts are only the beginning of Republicans' plans to decrease the debt, but declined to go into detail about his plans for cutting entitlements. He said he would like to see cuts to entitlement programs, such as Social Security and Medicaid, in President Barack Obama's upcoming 2012 budget.

The GOPers are using our current economic predicament as an excuse to drive through their agenda which consists of tax breaks for billionaires, carte blanche for corporations and a lump of coal for everyone else.

Is anyone surprised?
