The article says the museum will "vacate its location in the Tribune Tower on Michigan Avenue and begin to operate a 'mobile museum' that will go to schools and Chicago neighborhoods".

It always seemed an unnatural mix.

Reading the pathetic dribble from the Chicago Tribune Editorial Board is a painful exercise even on a good day. But what can you say about a piece that begins with this:

We write human history in red blood and raw courage.

Bush says bye-bye. America says don't let the door hit you on the way out.

The GOP Marching Orders have already come down:

"Every time voters see Roland Burris, they'll think of that other notorious RB, Rod Blagojevich. Burris wants this Senate seat so desperately that he'll even accept it from a guy who allegedly tried to sell it....

I'm sorry but you cannot separate the person who got the seat from the utterly corrupt and probably criminal process that led him to getting it.

The fact that Burris accepted this is all you need to know about his moral character.

And if anyone is hoping to forget this, don't worry: we'll be reminded of it incessantly through the months and years of Blago's criminal trial.

This is an embarrassment to the State of Illinois.

Love the mention of me in the Jan/Feb 2009 edition of The American Prospect (p. 4):

"And on tapped, the Prospect's staff blog, commenter Leo wrote, "I didn't even have to know the guy's background to know he was a vegetarian." Sorry to disappoint, but Adler is, in fact, a meat-eater."

It's hard to imagine anyone looking back at 2008 and feeling nostalgic. In fact, it's hard to imagine anyone looking back at this entire decade and feeling nostalgic. Talk about 'Lost Generation'? This one practically qualifies as a 'Lost Decade'.

Even retailers are finding Obamamania irresistible if this section featuring Obama paraphernalia in the Walgreens on State and Walton is any indication. The sign says, "New Item: Obama Tshirts/Sweatshirts" and in addition to the hats and badges, you can also pick up a copy of Obama's autobiography and various "special editions" devoted to the incoming President.

Banners draped the lamp-posts all around Chicago's City Hall. The fine print read: "Paid for by the Richard M. Daley Campaign Committee".
