So last week, we were treated to an incessant narrative from the MSM of DNC conflict and disunity. There was Hillary, Bill, the Pumas -- you name it.
None of this turned out to be true. It was a complete distortion of reality.
Nonetheless, by this standard we ought to be seeing an equivalent deluge right now of stories (whether real or not) about how the RNC is about to blow apart.
How is this not happening?
UPDATE: So what's the big issue impinging on attendees at the Republican Convention? Why it's Hurricane Gustav! And (predictable follow-up question), did you know, Hurricane Gustav is good news for John McCain?
See if you're Barack Obama and you run around trying to look 'presidential' it's presumptuous but when you're John McCain and you're using Hurricane-threatened Louisiana as a backdrop for one photo-op after the other, that's just good politics.
As NPR correspondent, David Welna gushes, "I think this is a chance for [John McCain] to look presidential by saying the country comes before the party does."
In the words of Barack Obama, 'Enough!'. If McCain thinks he's going to use Hurricane Gustav as some sort of publicity stunt, even going to the extent of giving his acceptance speech in Louisiana, Barack should upstage him with a speech on the very same night.
