We need someone to fill the open seat vacated by the death of Sen. Kennedy and we need someone quickly. And it looks like Massachusetts may come riding to the rescue.
I'm not sure of the long-term implications of such an expedited move -- we had problems along these lines when Obama left the Senate -- but frankly I don't care. If this makes real health care reform more likely, then do it. Anything that makes real health care reform more likely in this country -- I'm in favor of. Anything. Just do it.
