My, how things have changed (3/14/2003):
Country stations across the United States have pulled the [Dixie] Chicks from playlists following reports that lead singer Natalie Maines said in a concert in London earlier this week that she was "ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."
Station managers said their decisions were prompted by calls from irate listeners who thought criticism of the president was unpatriotic....
"People are shocked. They cannot believe Texas' own have attacked the state and the president," [KILT program director Jeff] Garrison said.
Limbaugh (1/20/2009): "I Hope Obama Fails’'
Beck (4/1/2009): "Like it or not, fascism is on the rise."
Gov. Perry (R-TX) (4/15/2009): "Texas is a unique place. When we came into the Union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that."
UPDATE: Voice of Real America. Reaction to Perry's threat from State Rep. Jim Dunnam (D-TX):
Talk of secession is an attack on our country. It can be nothing else. It is the ultimate anti-American statement.
