Ethics Reform in Illinois - Not Recall

What in the world is recall going to do when you can still contribute $100k to someone's campaign and then turn around and do business with that person once they're elected?

Recall is nothing but democracy by temper-tantrum. It'll undermine orderly government no matter who is in control.

The Sun-Times has it right:

In 18 states, voters have the power to recall their state officials but only two governors have gotten the ax, in North Dakota in 1921 and California in 2003. But the very threat of a recall could have a powerful chilling effect on elected officials, creating even more timid leaders than we have now.
