The Bargain You Make

I've been banging on doors for Obama for the past three days. People ask me how I think he's doing.

I have only one response:

This is all about a bargain you make. It's entirely personal between you and the candidate and has nothing to do with polls, or what's happening in other states. If you do your part, the candidate wins. If you don't do your part, the candidate loses.

My part of the bargain is to go out and knock on doors. The part of the bargain of the people whose doors I'm knocking on is to go out and vote for the candidate. It's a simple exchange of value and effort that depends entirely on a person's willingness to do their bit. Talk about polls or any other external element is completely irrelevant.
