McCain Wins Debate [Updated]

Talk about 'expectations'! McCain's so sure of himself that not only does he declare victory ahead of time but he does so even before he declares whether he'll be there or not.

This guy should be certified. He's running the nuttiest campaign's ever. Commander-and-chief at Bellevue is all he ought to be.

UPDATE [After the Actual Debate]: I was at the Obama Volunteer Center for the actual debate. There was little that got people riled up one way or another. McCain at certain points was dismissive and insulting. Obama was his usual calm unflappable self.

That said, I think most people saw it as a draw. This was supposed to be McCain's big subject and he really didn't distinguish himself on it.

One of the other volunteers noted how the controversy involving McCain's actions prior to the debate were totally ignored. That's true but I think people watching the thing -- whether democratic or undecided -- are perfectly able to connect the dots themselves.

Verdict: Nothing Changed; McCain still on the skids.

Favorite Quote of the Debate: "John likes to pretend the war started in 2007."
