There was a remarkable interview of Jim Brady and his wife Sarah on today's "Weekend Edition Saturday".

The experience of being shot thirty years ago, propelled the Bradys, formerly mainstream Republicans, into dramatic activism against gun violence, particularly in the form of their highly effective, 'Brady Campaign'.

But what really hit home was this exchange between NPR's Scott Simon and Sarah Brady:

Citizen Action-IL had a special event at the Chicago Temple celebrating the one-year anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act. There were a number of speakers including the always inspiring William McNary of Citizen Action. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky made the point that some day soon, we'll all be going around saying, 'I heart Obamacare'.

Thought of the day
